Background:
Shannon grew up in an abusive household and struggled with extreme bullying for much of her life, causing her to move schools frequently. At the beginning of Binding 13, she transfers to Tommen College, where she is hit by a rugby ball by star rugby player Johnny Kavanagh. This sparks a close friendship between the two, who go on to date each other as they face conflict together.
