Background:

In Penryn's world, angels have all but destroyed Earth, leaving humans to turn on each other. Penryn, struggling to survive with her crazy mother and sister who relies on a wheelchair, one day comes across a group of fighting angels. However, her and her family cannot escape fast enough, and one of the angels flies away with Paige, her helpless sister. One of the angels had been left behind, his wings cut off. Penryn decides to strike a deal with him to get her sister back, and together they journey to find Paige and find out what the angels are doing.
